Sarah Palin's husband 'files for divorce

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is reportedly increasing her push to raise funds ahead of a potential entry into the 2012 race for the Republican presidential nomination.

The Des Moines Register obtained a fundraising letter sent out by Sarah PAC, the former Alaska governor’s political action committee. In the letter dated September 20, Sarah PAC treasurer Tim Crawford says “time is running out” and that Palin is “on the verge” of making a decision about a White House bid.

“It’s one of the most difficult and important decisions of her life,” Mr. Crawford writes, as he asks to “show her that we support her if she decides to run.”

Ms. Palin, who has yet to announce her decision regarding the 2012 race for the Republican nomination, said Wednesday that she is still considering whether to enter the race, telling Fox News that she remains “interested.”

“I think people are still going to be coming and going because there is still time, and I’m still one of those still considering,” Ms. Palin said during the interview. “There is still time…And I think on both sides of the aisle, you’re going to see people coming and going in this race.”

“We need to change the entire game plan. And we need to change the entire team that’s been there at White House doing such great damage to our economy,” the former Alaska governor said. “We need to make sure that we have the best and most qualified. The most vetted candidate to come forth and rise to the surface after this primary process.”

Also the magazine claimed Todd Palin was "fed up" following the publication last week of Joe McGinniss's book The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin.
A friend reportedly told the magazine: "The final straw was McGinniss quoting Sarah's brother Chuckie telling a friend they don't have a marriage."
Mr Palin has condemned the book as "full of disgusting lies, innuendo, and smears." In a scathing review the New York Times noted that the book contained "caustic, unsubstantiated gossip about the Palins, often from unnamed sources."
Last year, Mrs Palin reacted angrily to a similar tabloid report that she was heading for divorce. She was said to have been "steaming" about the suggestion.

he National Enquirer was the first to report details last week from McGinniss's book, which made a series of allegations about Mrs Palin's private life including drug use.
According to the magazine Mrs Palin has also been told by advisers that a run for the White House would be "political suicide" because opponents would dig into her private life.
Mrs Palin has still not announced whether she will run in 2012.
A poll this week gave her 44 per cent in a hypothetical presidential race against President Barack Obama, and put him on 49 per cent.
It suggested an increase in her popularity as she trailed by 20 percentage points in previous surveys.
