GoDaddy.com Customer Review

GoDaddy.com Customer Review

I have had such a great experience with  GoDaddy.com . I have used their services for domain registrations, domain backordering and web hosting for both Linux and ASP.NET.

I find their ordering process very easy to follow although they keep offering all these options that you can add such as traffic stats, site builders, etc. in many pages and it can get annoying when you do it many times. But I just press the No, thanks button and keep going.

I have 10 domains registered with  GoDaddy.com  and it is very easy to manage them, change their nameservers, forwarding options, etc. Since I started registering my domains with  GoDaddy.com  I have not used any other registrars for that.

I also backordered a domain that had expired and they sent me emails frequently to keep me up to date on the status of the order. I was able to get the domain and register it and it was all so easy and fast.

I had a website hosted on Linux using PHP with them and it was always up and working. It was a portfolio that I used to show my work to possible employers as I was looking for a job and I needed it to be up all the time so that I would not miss any chances of getting a job. GoDaddy.com web hosting was excellent and my site had no downtime.

Now with the Windows web hosting. After working with PHP for about a year and a half, I switched to Microsoft technologies because that is what was used at my new job. I did some research on ASP.NET web hosting but I did not find any mention of GoDaddy.com so I wrongly assumed their plans were not good enough or that you had little control over many features. I found another web hosting provider and opened my account with them but it was a terrible mistake. After cancelling the account with them I opened a new web hosting account with  GoDaddy.com . The price was a lot better and I could create as many websites as I needed using the provided space. They also have some applications that can be installed automatically by them but you can choose to install them manually, as I did with BlogEngine.net. Most of them are for Linux though.

Their control panel is very well organized and gives you the options to create new websites, manage your files and permissions, FTP files, create databases, access applications that can be installed automatically, add users, view your space and bandwidth limits and usage, assign domains to your web hosting account, add and assign subdomains, view and configure statistics, read help documentation and more. This is more than enough for most people who need web hosting services without a dedicated server. You also get SQL Server and MySql databases. And you can access the ftp site using IE which I find very easy to do and quick.
