Gwen Stefani is still gorgeous @ 42

She's so fashion forward you almost have to press pause to soak up her outfits, but Gwen Stefani rarely places comfort over style.
Except today, that is, as the blonde kickstarted her 42nd birthday celebrations by heading to a business meeting in sweltering London.
She beat the sweat by donning a white shirt - so far so Working Girl - but it was so flimsy and slashed at the sides, you could see her bra.

And it was a cute, retro-style white bra to boot, perhaps heralding a departure from the colourful styles of recent years.
Stefani looked mean in monochrome in all respects, with only gold jewellery distracting from the overall appearance.
And the colourful bouquets of flowers delivered to the star's home before she headed out with her three-year-old son, Zuma, to an office block in Cavendish Square in Central London,

Yesterday the singing star joined the Primrose Hill crowds flocking to the park to soak up the sunshine and heat.
Stefani was in great spirits as lounged on a blanket in the grass among the groups of picnicking and sunbathing locals in the late afternoon.

Smile, it's your birthday! Gwen is chipper as she heads out for the day
The mother-of-two toasted the weather and perhaps her impending birthday, with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Rose champagne.
Energetic Zuma practised his boxing moves on his nanny, who indulged him in a play fight while his laughing mother cheered him on.
Gwen has been spotted taking the children on trips to the London Zoo, and last week they had a playdate with Gwen's good friend Angelina Jolie's kids.
After 10 years of performing in tiny clubs, Gwen Stefani burst on to the music scene in 1995 with No Doubt's breakout album Tragic Kingdom.
Hailing from Anaheim, California, the then 26-year-old Gwen led the band to fame, touring around the world and later producing two more albums.
In 2002 she married British rocker Gavin Rossdale who she met on tour opening up for his band Bush in 1995. Together the couple has two children, Kingston James McGregor, who was born in 2006 and Zuma Nesta Rock, born in 2008.

Along with that, she is mother to two of the coolest kids on the planet, Zuma Nesta Rock and Kingston James MacGregor, and the wife of the world's hottest English rocker, Gavin Rossdale.

Stefani is the kind of person you would just love to hate if you could, but her genuine concern for those around her and for her planet puts her on another level of music superstar. The kind you aim to be like.

It wasn't that long ago that her quirky style and self-designed costumes launched a million Gwenabees, who dressed like, wore their hair like and tried to live like their idol.

Stefani's lyrics spoke directly from the heart, particularly the band's biggest single, "Don't Speak", which chronicled her failed relationship with No Doubt bandmate Tony Kanal.

She took a break from No Doubt in 2003 and in 2004, released the first of her two solo albums, Love. Angel. Music. Baby and 2006's The Sweet Escape.

In 2009, she reunited with No Doubt for a national tour and since then, has concentrated mostly on raising her children and developing her fragrance, clothing and accessory lines.
