Apple CEO Tim Cook to take stage

Apple CEO Tim Cook will take the stage to kick off the D10 conference on Tuesday evening, though he is not expected to deviate from the company’s long-standing secretive nature regarding new products.

Cook will be featured in the opening session of the conference, which is run by All Things D, a technology blog that – like MarketWatch – is owned by News Corp.

Cook may be quizzed on matters such as working conditions in the Chinese factories owned by Apple’s manufacturing partners as well as issues that have recently weighed on the company’s stock price, including a shortage of 28-nanometer chips used in smartphones and talk of wireless operators trimming the subsidies they pay to sell high-end devices, such as the popular iPhone.

Cook’s appearance on the D stage comes less than two weeks before the kickoff of Apple’s  AAPL 1.32%  own Worldwide Developers Conference, at which Cook will likely deliver the opening keynote. The WWDC event typically features the company’s latest software updates, and will likely showcase the next iteration of Apple’s iOS mobile operating system.
