PBR Goes Pink in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness: Fans Reaction

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Eastside Fire & Rescue plans to support the annual observance.
The local firefighters union, International Association of Firefighters Local 2878, approved a resolution to honor women fighting cancer. The union purchased pink T-shirts last year and, per fire chiefs’ approval, firefighters plan to wear the pink shirts on duty from Monday to Friday. The move is meant to encourage women battling breast cancer, and others battling other forms of cancer.
Nationwide, fire departments plan to trade blue uniforms for pink items to support the fight against cancer.
EFR firefighters respond to and treat many cancer patients in day-to-day operations.

During the month of October the PBR and Wrangler Western Wear are encouraging everyone that attends a PBR Saturday night event to wear pink. Fans can purchase an exclusive t-shirt at the PBR events, or they can also be ordered on line from the PBR website store.

Half of all of the proceeds from the "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" sales will go to help benefit the Cancer Research Foundation. What a great way for the PBR and Wrangler Western Wear to support breast cancer awareness and get their fans involved as well. It just goes to show what a caring organization the PBR truly is.

The PBR and the bull riders support many organizations and charitable events through out the year. They also show their support to their fans as well and this campaign is no exception because this campaign was inspired by a PBR fan.

Linda Wells is a bull riding fan and a breast cancer survivor. According to the PBR website, Wells took on J.B. Mauney's strategy of riding bulls to battle her cancer. J.B. Mauney has often made the statement that riding bulls is done "one jump at a time." Patients who fight cancer of any kind usually do it one day at a time as well.

The final event of the PBR is this weekend, October 14-15, before the bull riders charge into Las Vegas for the world finals. You can still catch this event on the Versus channel Saturday night or on CBS Sunday afternoon, as it airs a day behind the live schedule. The "Cooper Tire Invitational from Columbus Ohio" is the last chance for many riders and bulls to secure a spot in the World Finals October 26-30th.
