McNeil, Papillon help power Bruins to win

McNeil and the passing of Luke Papillon to their first victory, beating Denver East 42-24 on Friday night at All-City Stadium.
For Creek, it was a way to forget its opening loss to seventh-ranked Pomona. McNeil rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown, and Papillon threw for 151 yards and ran for two touchdowns. Eric Pettis added a pair of scoring runs for Creek, which gained 298 yards on the ground.
East (1-1) got two touchdowns by Isaiah Hendrix, who scored on a 5-yard run and caught a 25-yard pass from brother Kadeem. Shahid Hoover added a 55-yard scoring run for the Angels.
Bear Creek 48, Gateway 0
AURORA — Sean Flanagan threw for three touchdowns to three different receivers in the first 16 minutes, and 5A's fifth-ranked Bears built a 35-0 lead after one quarter. Flanagan was 11-of-14 passing for 161 yards before being relieved. He has seven TD passes for the season. Bear Creek (2-0) also returned two Olympian fumbles for touchdowns, and Zach Greenwood returned the opening kickoff 81 yards.

AURORA — Jake Leathers passed for three touchdowns and Jordan Jungers ran for two as the Raiders, ranked third in 5A, rebounded from an opening loss to 4A No. 1 Valor Christian and handed the Wildcats their third straight loss. Leathers' three scoring passes, his first of the season, included one to brother Luke. Jungers brought his rushing touchdown total to four with runs of 4 and 1 yards.


Horizon 40, Northglenn 0
THORNTON — Andrew Patrick rushed for two touchdowns and Brent Albrandt threw a pair of scoring passes to Dustin Rivas as the Hawks bounced back from an opening 9-0 loss to Ralston Valley. Horizon scored all of its points in the first half, including TD runs of 24 and 42 by Patrick and scoring catches for 47 and 24 yards by Rivas.
Lakewood 44, Golden 0
LAKEWOOD — The 5A Tigers scored on a kickoff return, fumble return and safety in building a 30-0 first-quarter lead to win their first game and hand 4A Golden its second straight loss. Zeke Dalton added a pair of touchdown runs, including a 49-yarder, for Lakewood, which lost its opener in Florida.
Pine Creek 49, Rampart 7
COLORADO SPRINGS — Josh Beecham and Shomari Cousar each ran for over 100 yards as the Eagles, ranked No. 4 in 4A, handed the 5A Rams their first loss. Beecham, who had 160 yards and two touchdowns in Pine Creek's opening win, added 154 yards and a pair of scores, including an 80-yarder. Cousar had 154 yards and a touchdown. J.T. Travis had an 85-yard punt return and James Fisher an 82-yard run for the Eagles.

McNeil Laboratories

McNeil Consumer Healthcare is a pharmaceutical company belonging to the Johnson & Johnson healthcare products group.
The company was founded on March 16, 1879 by 23-year-old Robert McNeil, who paid $167 for a drugstore complete with fixtures, inventory and soda fountain, as a retail pharmacy, in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, PA, USA. Robert McNeil was a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science (University of the Sciences in Philadelphia).
In 1904, one of McNeil's son's, Robert Lincoln McNeil, became part of the company and together they created McNeil Laboratories in 1933. The company would focus on direct marketing of prescription drugs to hospitals, pharmacists, and doctors. Development of acetaminophen began under the leadership of Robert L. McNeil, Jr., who later served as the firm's chairman. In 1953 McNeil Laboratories introduced Algoson, a preparation containing acetaminophen together with sodium butabarbital, a sedative. In 1955, McNeil Laboratories introduced Tylenol Elixir for children, containing only acetaminophen.
In 1959, Johnson & Johnson acquired McNeil Laboratories and a year later the company was able to sell Tylenol for the first time ever, without a prescription. In 1961 the company moved into its Fort Washington, Pennsylvania headquarters. Along with its Fort Washington plant, McNeil also has plants worldwide.
In 1977, two companies were created: McNeil Pharmaceutical and McNeil Consumer Products Company or McNeil Consumer Healthcare.
The current president of McNeil Consumer Healthcare is Peter Luther.

The focus of McNeil Pharmaceutical is to market prescription drugs. In 1993 McNeil Pharmaceutical merged with the Ortho Pharmaceutical Corporation to form Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical




McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals


In 2001 McNeil Consumer Healthcare changed its name to McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals. However, it was changed again and is now known as "McNeil Consumer Healthcare". The company markets over-the-counter and prescription pharmaceuticals including complete lines of Tylenol and Motrin IB (ibuprofen) products for adults and children. The company is located in Fort Washington, PA, and currently employs 2,600 people. Annual sales in 2004 were US $2.1 billion. McNeil's Canadian head office is in Markham, Ontario.




Johnson & Johnson Merck Joint Venture


Known as the "JV," this 50/50 joint venture between Johnson & Johnson and Merck handles the OTC product lines Pepcid, Mylanta, and Mylicon and is located at the McNeil Consumer Healthcare headquarters in Fort Washington, PA.




2010 Product Recall

In April 2010 McNeil Consumer Healthcare recalled 43 over-the-counter children's medicines. Tylenol, Motrin, Zyrtec and Benadryl products were affected.
