I’ll do it my way” says Princess Charlene

Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco appear to be living separate lives, as Charlene describes herself as "independent" in her princess ways. Really? Didn't you just marry the Prince of Monaco? Shouldn't you both be performing royal duties of Monaco together? It has been several weeks since the royal couple has been performing their duties of royalty separately.

Now, Princess Charlene and Prince Albert are separated once again as the Lady of Monaco appeared fashionably happy at Paris' Fashion Week. For obvious girly reasons, the Prince did not attend, but it seemed odd that Charlene was in brighter spirits in Paris rather than in her new hometown of Monaco. It just seems that she is not feeling the whole "wife thing" to Prince Albert.

And now he is left showing up to royal duties with his sister and he even brought a celebrity singer to one charity event. It seemed quite odd. Was he cheating on Princess Charlene, or has she accepted the strange partying and wanderings of her Prince? It seems wrong for her to have to lead a life of regret just to be the Lady of Monaco.

Princess Charlene explained quite clearly that she doesn't want to be compared to Princess Kate Middleton. She went on about her love of swimming and that she likes to be "independent" while she is learning to live in Monaco as the Princess. She doesn't appear to be adjusting well.

As of lately, she cut her bangs, which makes her look less attractive, and she has appeared quite depressed and down-trodden recently. Now Princess Charlene admitted that she believes she is expected to do royal duties, but that she is taking a break from them for now. Taking a break? Seriously?

The couple married weeks after Britain’s Prince William and Catherine Middleton tied the knot, but Charlene brushed off any comparisons between the two princesses, promising to “do it my way.”

“I think for anyone living in a new country and adapting to a new lifestyle, it’s a different role,” she told the British broadsheet at last week’s Paris Fashion Week.

“I’m just learning,” she continued. “I was an Olympic swimmer, I lived in a swimsuit, I lived on tour.”Charlene expects that her royal duties will eventually become a full-time occupation, but that she was taking time out to adjust at the moment.

The South African admitted her French was not up to scratch, but was coming along “step by step”.

The princess questioned “why?” when informed of the Telegraph’s request for an interview, and joked she was “talking to the enemy” in light of the stories printed about her before the wedding.

Prince Albert and the Monaco government previously lashed out at media spreading what they describe as false rumours.

Claims that Charlene tried to leave the principality in a huff just days before the royal wedding were rejected by the palace and by Albert himself.

The media had reported that Princess Charlene interrupted preparations for the lavish celebrations and prepared to take a flight for her home country after rumours surfaced of infidelities by the prince.

  1. How sad!! I think both of them have to change/give in. The Prince needs to give his wife love and a sense of security that they are a team. He has to be there for her to help her through this adjustment period. She needs to reaize that her life has changed and she cannot do her "own thing." I can see that she is overwhelmed and her life will forever be different now. If she wants to stay married, she has to also be by her husband's side and forfill her obligations as a Princess. They do make a beautiful couple. Hopefully, they will be able to work things out soon, so that they can go forward.
