Dennis Quaid Montana Ranch For Sale For $14 Million

Dennis Quaid, who currently appears in "Footloose," has put his $14 million Montana ranch on the market

The 420-acre property is located in Paradise Valley and as Quaid told the Wall Street Journal, "The backyard is basically Yellowstone Park."

The actor bought the land 25-years ago from "Straw Dogs" director Sam Peckinpah and actor Warren Oates.

The 5315 square foot home, which Quaid built in 2000 with architect Frank Cikan, has 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms and stunning views of Six Mile Creek and the Absaroka Mountain Range (See photos of the property).

The main house features wide-plank hardwood floors salvaged from the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. There are also four guest houses, a ranch manager's home, horse facilities, an observatory and two miles of "fishing creek."

Quaid told the Wall Street Journal that he decided to sell the property in order to buy a home in Hawaii so he can go surfing, which he called "the new love of my life."

The 57-year-old actor has appeared in films like "Jaws 3," "The Parent Trap," "Traffic," "In Good Company," "The Day After Tomorrow," "Frequency," "Smart People" and "Soul Surfer."

Quaid currently portrays "Dancing With The Stars" professional Julianne Hough's overbearing father in the film "Footloose," which hit theaters on October 14.

The actor, a Texas native whose films include "The Rookie" and "The Day After Tomorrow," lives primarily in Austin. His third wife, Kimberly Buffington, gave birth to twins in 2004, and Quaid has one son from his marriage to actress Meg Ryan. He told the newspaper he is selling the ranch in order to buy a new property in Hawaii in order to pursue "the new love of my life, which is surfing," he told The Wall Street Journal.

The property offers ample opportunity for outdoor recreation, with four guesthouses, horse barns, an observatory and a two-mile long fishing creek. The property contains picturesque views of Six Mile Creek and the Absaroka Mountain Range.

"The backyard is basically Yellowstone Park," said Quaid.
